"The report presents valuable information for businesses and individuals who are interested in moving to Central Minnesota. Between its lines is a great story about the work ethic and value held by the people of our area."

Phase I: The Community Assessment

The Community Assessment is a detailed report that compiles data and describes key indicator areas, including employment, human services, and the economy. The Community Assessment also interprets the perceptions of key leaders in the region as a means of identifying industries and occupations that will sustain positive growth and enhance the high standard of living in the area.
The first phase of Partners for
 Strategic Growth was to research
the current status of the region's
 workforce, community, and
 economy.

The results of that research are
 documented in the 2002
 Community Assessment
. This
 report details many key indicators
 and compares the Stearns-
 Benton region to comparable
 areas in Minnesota.

The Community Assessment was funded by the Governor's Workforce Development Council and initiated and guided by the Stearns-Benton Workforce Council. The design, research, and synthesis was completed by Venture Allies, LLC.

Goals of the Report
The goals of the project were to 1) assess the current workforce development system, 2) plan how best to build the workforce of the future, and 3) collaborate across different leadership groups in the region.
